Organizational Structure
The Dire Dawa Administration Education Bureau is structured into strategic leadership, core directorates, and support units to ensure efficient service delivery, policy implementation, and quality oversight across all educational levels.
🔹 Executive Leadership
- Head of Bureau – Overall strategic direction, policy formulation, and external representation.
- Deputy Head of Bureau – Oversees daily operations and coordinates between core directorates.

- General Education Quality Assurance Directorate – Monitors teaching standards, school inspections, and student performance.
- Curriculum & Assessment Directorate – Implements national curriculum, develops assessment frameworks, and standardizes examinations.
- Finance & Property Administration Directorate – Handles budgeting, procurement, asset management, and financial compliance.
- Human Resource & Organizational Development Directorate – Manages recruitment, staff deployment, capacity building, and welfare.

- ICT & Digital Services Unit – Manages education management information systems (EMIS), digital infrastructure, and e-learning platforms.
- Legal & Compliance Office – Ensures adherence to education laws, handles disputes, and reviews regulatory frameworks.
- Communication & Public Relations Unit – Manages media relations, public awareness campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
- Internal Audit & Anti-Corruption Office – Conducts financial audits, risk assessments, and promotes transparency.
🔹 Decentralized Structure
The Bureau coordinates with Woreda/Sub-City Education Offices and Cluster Resource Centers to ensure grassroots implementation of policies, school-level support, and community engagement.
